inTech Consulting Is Now Officially CMMC Level 1 Certified
It’s official: inTech Consulting has achieved CMMC Level 1 certification. That makes us one of a small group of Pacific Northwest MSPs to formally clear the Department of Defense’s foundational cybersecurity bar and a stronger partner for the aerospace, defense, and manufacturing clients we serve every day.
If you’re a DoD prime, sub, or supplier inside the 25–250 user range, here’s what this changes for you, what it doesn’t, and why it matters right now.
What CMMC Level 1 Actually Means
CMMC Level 1 covers the 17 basic safeguarding requirements from FAR 52.204-21. It’s the floor for any contractor handling Federal Contract Information (FCI) not Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), which lives at Level 2.
Think of Level 1 as the locked front door: access control, identification, media protection, physical security, system integrity. Level 2 is the vault inside. Level 1 is required across the entire DoD supply chain.
Being certified ourselves means we’ve done internally exactly what we help clients do externally.
Why This Is a Bigger Deal Than It Sounds
Most MSPs claim CMMC expertise. Far fewer have submitted themselves to the same scrutiny. Here’s what our certification signals:
- Verified controls in our own environment. The systems we use to deliver managed IT and 24/7 SOC services meet DoD safeguarding standards.
- Reduced flow-down risk for our clients. When your MSP handles your FCI, your MSP’s posture becomes part of your audit story.
- Operational proof, not marketing. We’ve walked the documentation, evidence, and policy path we put clients through.
What This Means If You’re a DoD Manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest
Three direct impacts:
- Vendor risk question answered. If your prime asks who handles your IT and what their cybersecurity posture is, you have a clean answer.
- Faster Level 2 readiness. Our internal Level 2 work is already underway, and our CMMC compliance services are built on the same playbook we used on ourselves.
- Less guessing. We’ve already mapped the evidence, scoping, and SSP work that trips up most manufacturers.
Where We Go From Here
Level 1 is a milestone, not a finish line. Our roadmap:
- Continue Level 2 internal alignment against NIST 800-171
- Expand SIEM and MDR coverage for CUI-handling clients
- Keep publishing the CMMC readiness frameworks our clients use to pass audits
Bottom Line
If your business touches a DoD contract directly or three tiers down your MSP’s cybersecurity posture is now part of your compliance picture. inTech Consulting is officially certified. That’s one less risk on your scorecard.
